Some weeks at CVS (like this coming week) are just not that great in the deal dept. Those are weeks when I go back through my rainchecks and compound them to get good deals! :)
CVS is awesome because you can get rainchecks on anything that runs out before you are able to take advantage of the deal AND they will honor the ExtraBucks that you would have earned when you redeem the raincheck (Walgreens will NOT do this with their Register Reward program). Oh - and they never expire! So sometimes, if you end up with enough rainchecks that you have not used, you can combine to make your own good deal week.
Last week was one such week for me. I didn't see anything I needed/wanted to get....Eli wanted to get out of the house...so I scrounged up a deal. Here's what I came up with:
*Had $8 ExtraBucks leftover from previous weeks....so that meant I wouldn't have to spend anything out of pocket!
*Gilette ProGlide Power Razor with Cartridges - Regularly $12.99, was $10 on sale with raincheck, but you also get $5 ExtraBucks.
- Used $4.00 off coupon from a P&G insert
- Paid $6 ExtraBucks....got $5 ExtraBucks back
*Dove Soap 2-pack - Regularly $2.50, was $.99 on sale with raincheck
- Paid $1 ExtraBucks
*Skinny Cow Candies - $.99 on sale with raincheck, get $.99 ExtraBucks back
- Used a B1G1 free coupon
- Paid $1 Extra Bucks for TWO candies....got $1 ExtraBucks back
*Scanned my CVS card at the magic coupon machine when I was there, and I received coupons for a free package of CVS bandaids and a free Cadbury carmello bar. So I also picked those up for free!
So I started the day with $8 ExtraBucks....got all that stuff....then ended the day with $6 ExtraBucks for future use.
